Counselling and Psychotherapy
Located at:
217 Speers Road, Suite 12, Oakville, ON L6K 0J3

As a Registered Social Worker for the past 25 years, I have provided counselling and therapy in the fields of mental health, intimate partner violence, and trauma. In addition to my private practice, my employment experiences include hospital and community based clinics, not-for-profit counselling organizations, and children's aid. For the past 10-plus years, I have conducted custody and access assessments for the courts as a Clinical Investigator with The Office of the Children’s Lawyer.
I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in social work, specializing in racial trauma. I hold Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work degrees from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
I am a member of the following regulatory bodies and associations: The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, EMDR Canada and EMDR International Association, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
My therapy practice is based on the belief that each person has the internal strengths, resources, and answers to address their challenges and that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of effective therapy. My role is to support, guide, and challenge you in a gentle and non-judgmental manner so you can make the changes that are best for you. My approach is holistic, exploring both the mind-body connection and the environmental circumstances contributing to the issues. My goal is to assist you to heal emotionally, psychologically, physically, and spiritually.
I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have pursued additional training in treating trauma and PTSD, neuropsychology, partner violence, mindfulness-based practices, and anti-racist psychotherapy. In addition, I incorporate a variety of approaches including cognitive- behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based training, trauma-informed therapy, energy psychology, and anti-racist/ anti-oppressive psychotherapy. I am committed to ongoing professional development.
“In a racist society it is not enough to be non-racist. We must be Anti-Racist.”
